The High Cost of Loving

How much does Jesus love you?
He stretched out his arms on the cross and said, THIS MUCH!”

Owe no one anything except to love each other as He has loved us.  (Romans)
  1. When I LOVE I am obeying the law of Christ to: “love each other as I have loved you.”

  2. When I LOVE I agree with Jesus’ prayer, “Father, may they be one in unity as we are.”

  3. When I LOVE I am willing to tell you I’m wrong if and when I am and ask you to forgive me.

  4. When I LOVE I try to be honest and open with you, even if it might offend you.

  5. When I LOVE I won’t allow you to be the source of my happiness and self-worth.

  6. When I LOVE I won’t allow myself to be the source of your happiness and self-worth.

  7. When I LOVE I will seek to forgive you if you hurt my feelings and won’t nurse a grudge.

  8. When I LOVE I will rejoice with you when you’re happy and mourn when you’re sad.

  9. When I LOVE I examine my heart when you confront me, rather than defend myself.

  10. When I LOVE I am patient with you if and when I feel you are being petty or selfish or unfair.

  11. When I LOVE I look for specific opportunities to overcome and return evil with good.

  12. When I LOVE I will really listen to you, trying to understand and offer you support.

  13. When I LOVE I will invest time discussing our conflicts and try to resolve them.

  14. When I LOVE I will try to give you a soft answer if and when you are angry with me.

  15. When I LOVE I will not reject you if you reject me.

  16. When I LOVE I will deny my comforts and needs when you really need my attention.

  17. When I LOVE I maintain a spirit of courtesy towards you even if you slight me.

  18. When I LOVE I am willing to share your burdens even when it’s inconvenient.

  19. When I LOVE I admit my sins and failures without excuses or blame.

  20. When I LOVE I admit to myself, to you and God I can only do any of these things by God’s grace through His Holy Spirit.
